RatingWe just TiVoed this movie. Did you know that it takes place in Spokane. I had know idea. I thought the only movie made in Spokane was The Basket.

RatingTwo words:

AWE...SOME!

I was able to go with half the elder's quorum last night on an informal activity to see Transformers. This is a must see. My only suggestion is to not sit as close as we did as there is a lot of "up close" action and it is hard to discern who is who. But this is definitely a must see!

RatingNot a typical Will Farrell movie (not crude humor), and amazingly it was still funny! Halle and I had a $1.99 coupon for a Blockbuster rental and we are glad that we chose to rent this one. I would rate it the same as Deja Vu (5 thumbs) except I agree with Halle that 5 thumbs should be reserved for those amazing movies like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars ... right Halle?
Jacob
RatingHalle didn't want to give this movie 5 thumbs but I did. I like movies like this one where the plot is rather complicated and you are constantly trying to figure things out. Halle on the other hand didn't like this movie because there is a "sci-fi" component to it that require one to use an imagination and if you don't have that, well....just kidding Halle. Great movie. There is one scene where they show some anatomy they shouldn't but other than that I thought the movie was pretty clean. 5 thumbs!

RatingHalle and I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. It isn't a real "upper" but if you are in the mood for a movie with a lot of twists and a semi-complicated plot, this is for you. The movie is about two up and coming magicians who get trapped in a heated, and deadly, rivalry. If you want more info than that, watch it yourself!

RatingDave and I watched this one for an extra credit opportunity for my sociology class...it's about a couple who are determined to find relief for their ALD inflicted 5year old boy, an illness that is incurable and not well known. Since all other children with ALD die relatively soon after they are diagnosed, the parents are frantic to find out any information they can on treatment. After faulty diets and many doctors, etc, they finally decide to take matters into their own hands and so their own research. Eventually, they discover a treatment (olive oil)that works, and by the end of the film they help many other families with ALD boys.

It's a great movie, very touching, but best of all, it's based on a true story. In fact, you can look at the progress Lorenzo has made on the internet. He's still living and he's in his late 20's. He's still paralyzed, but he has strengthed enough to communicate through technology. It's a pretty awesome story.

RatingOkay, I don't know how many of you all have already seen Rat Race, but it is hilarious! The movie is about 6 completely random people that are selected from a Las Vegas casino to compete with each other in being the first to get to Silver City, NM where they will find a $2 Million prize. A must see! 5 Thumbs up!

RatingFirst off, have any of you seen it? Jessica and I just finished it about 30 minutes ago and thought it was a riot. But
there's one thing Jessica pointed out about it that is really funny but won't make sense unless you've seen it...so this is
just for those of you who've seen it---she pointed it out as some of the very last credits were rolling down the screen:
"...The characters and events depicted in this film are fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely
coincidental...."

I guess I can buy that--IF I force myself to forget about most of the main characters, including:
Teddy Roosevelt (Bully!)
Sacagawea
Attila the Hun
Christopher Columbus
Civil War Soldiers
Octavius (Roman General)
Jeddediah (stereotypical western cowboy)
the Neanderthals
etc...

I personally can't see how that clause could hold up in court for this movie...

RatingWhether or not you are an Al Gore fan, I thnk that you all should watch this movie. The movie is essentially the slide presentation that Al Gore gives on global warming. While I have heard and seen just about all that is presented in the movie in my science classes at BYU, it is brought together in such a way that it makes you much more aware of the world and your effect on it. While there are a few comments about the Bush administration, it isn't a movie with a political agenda. I was very skeptical about watching it, but I was very much impressed with the film in the end. Our next car will be a hybrid...or whatever is better when we end up buying a new car...in 2025.
I second this review. Five very enthusiastic thumbs up! What an eye opener. Many people think that this presentation exaggerates the effects of global warming but I think they are missing the point. I don't know how anyone can watch this movie and not come away with a resolve to do better, to waste less, to think about the effect that he/she individually has on the environment. Who cares about the actual numbers, just look at the pictures of the glaciers in the first 10 minutes of the movie...unbelievable, shocking, motivating. A must see. - Halle

RatingAnother movie that was recommended to us by Sunny and Marc is Millions. We enjoyed the movie and thought that the main kid-actor was pretty good. The actors have very strong english accents and so we turned on the subtitles until we got used to it. Sometimes the movie seemed a bit strange but overall I would recommend taking a few hours to watch it.
